Thanks for accepting my invitation, Paul. I could sure use some help with getting sound into these pages here inside the Ning platform. Do you know anything about simple voice recording tools we could use to leave sound messages inside this kind of system?

I've just posted a video on my page and asked people to share their thoughts there, too, if you're interested...

Looking forward to learning with and from you...

Paul,
Will you also be at NAMM in Austin July 27-29? I'll take a look at your site - any piano solos?

I was thinking Gordon might have written that. It's very much in his style. I had the opportunity to wok with Gordon once when we recorded an album of Tom Kubis's big band music called "Slightly Off the Ground". That's been one of the highlights of my career. If you can find the CD, I highly recommend it.

About my charts, yes they are available! In addition to generating discussion of jazz amongst band directors and educating the educators, I'm also trying to establish a presence and sell my music to them. The charts can be purchased directly from me using a credit card or purchase order number. I also accept checks and cash ;-)

My official website is at www.bakersjazzandmore.com. There are full descriptions and grade levels in addition to the audio clips. Eventually, I'll have some pdf excerpts up as well. Currently, the website reflects only the high school level charts. I've got five middle school charts ready to go as well, but I don't have audio for them yet, but I will shortly. Also, I'll be at the TBA convention in San Antonio in July in booth 930. Please drop by and say hello if you're going to be there, too.

Paul,
Jazz Police is by Gordon Goodwin. It is published by Alfred Publishing. It is a grade 5-6.

I love your stuff. I am enjoying listening to it. Is any of it available in print?

I have recently added some recordings of my high school jazz band charts to the audio player on this page. Please check them out and let me know what you think.

Thanks for the plug, Sandy. I'm really curious to see what all these tools will be and how they'll be implemented. I think I've already joined the TMEA group.

For those who might be jazz band directors, please open another window and surf over to www.bakersjazzandmore.com to hear all my available charts. I'll be adding more very soon, along with some pdf score excerpts, as I get ready for the Texas Bandmasters Association convention in San Antonio this July.

If you're going to that convention, please stop by booth 930, Baker's Jazz And More, and say hello in person. It's always great to put a real face with an online name, and I really want to build relationships with my customers.

Paul: great to see you in the community. Be sure and also join the TMEA group. For others who see this -- Paul is the REAL DEAL. He is an amazing musician, composer, arranger. And he has a small music publishing business. We hope he'll have a 'marketplace' here with us in the fall when we roll out e-commerce, content creation tools, etc.
