Why did you move to Venice???

(This is from my MySpace blog. I blog a lot about Venice over there.)

WHY DID YOU MOVE TO VENICE?

I was married to a television director. We lived in the Hollywood Hills, in the Los Feliz area.

I had been to Venice several times on vacation. The very first time, I was walking around and I thought: I am going to live here one day.

Years passed, and I told my agent in NYC that I always had this fantasy of living in Venice for three months to write. She said, "W…

Thanks, Kenneth, for your comments. I've spent much of my life trying to understand Time and all its implications:). Dick Hurias kindly sent me his questionnaire. I am a big Carl Jung fan... I scored 95 Yellow, 68 Red, 48 Blue and 26 Green -- thanks Dick!

Also, I am either an ENFP or an INFP when it comes Myer-Briggs, depending on the test. When it comes to astrology, I have no earth planets. So... I spend much of my time trying to find where I put things! I am always locking myself out of my house; things like that. I wish everything had a little alarm on it so I could call it up and find it the way I can find my cell phone. (How about that? A key chain that you can telephone?:)

Actually living in Venice is an utterly different experience than visiting on vacation. It is not at all "ultra laid back;" in fact, I find the pace of life is more intense than either NYC or LA.

That said, once I have an aim and a deadline, I am like a bulldog to get things done. I have to create my own deadlines.

I am getting a lot of great ideas from WAT. Generating ideas is one of my skills. EXECUTING the ideas is what is difficult for me. Because I spend so much time in my head, I like to surround myself with people who can balance and ground me, and there seems to be some terrific people here.

Time, schmime! Of course! I am a father of three with at least that many jobs and our "hobbies" with my hands in all kinds of pies and cakes and fires and well....besides I live in the ultra fast lane of ultra American suburbia where no one has time to breathe in between the scampering from one activity to the next.....you're the one in ultra laid back ville.........we seem to find the time to attend to what we want and our needs take a beating....or is it the other way around? Needs just aren't as fun as wants. You could do what all men have done for the past 10,000 years or so.....just convert your wants to your needs to make it where you just HAVE to attend to attend to them......or vice versa as the "need" arises.....and I always "want" the "need" to arise or as I said.....versa vice.....the key to men is we ALWAYS arrange the cosmos to accommodate and attend to OUR perception of how things should be. I seem to have plenty of time that way. My, oh my, such is life, why not make it la Dolce Vita?

See, I have helped already! Look at the time you have carved out just to read and heave a huge sigh of WHATEVER!! Take care!

What are you haveing trouble with? I'll bet it's those darn canals - don't they have to carry messages and e-signals by gondola there?

Tell me and I wil see if I can guide you through.

I was just talking to my children about my favorite place. You may just be standing in that very spot! Your works seem very cool. If I pick up a copy can I get it autographed? Welcome aboard - I know there a lot of very good people that can learn from you.

Terrific to have an author in our community! Welcome! Hope you are able to plug into our current WAT$ program (see main page) and learn and grow with us. Hopefully, you'll find our marketplace (which we launch later in the fall) to be a good place to help you market and sell your work. Again, welcome, and enjoy! Loverly picture, btw. Venice is so very beautiful. We also love Florence! But home is Austin, Tx.
